Ilia Osokin is a 29 years old French-Russian multi-instrumentalist composer based in France. After his first career as a cellist in Russia and training in music theory in France he fully deviates towards composition. His curiosity pushes him to go beyond the borders of different musical systems. He seeks to express with the greatest creative freedom, his eclectic universe, whether explored in his research for orchestra and classical instruments or with modular synthesizers or hybrid instruments.
In classical music he has participated in numerous international projects with orchestras and chamber ensembles as a cellist or conductor (St Marks Academy in Boston and Newport, USA / International Youth Orchestra of Russia / Unique Ensemble in Moscow / Kirill Serebrennikov and Chekhov's Theatre, etc).
His own style of musical composition takes us on a journey where Electro, Neoclassical, Ambient and Jazz sounds intertwine in reference to Matthew Herbert, Biosphere, Tangerine Dream or Ryuichi Sakamoto.
He also composes for visual artists performances, advertising videos, and choreographic pieces. In the summer of 2021, the Monaco Opera will host his creation of a ballet choreographed by Mimoza Koike commissioned by Les Ballets de Monte-Carlo.
